  • Kindly note that there will be no alternative transport arrangements provided should you missed the stipulated pick up time and venue. This is because we are keeping our costs low so that the #GetLucky package is affordable to everyone.

  • Mountain Guide Ratio: Maximum of 05 Adult Climbers to 01 Mountain Guide.
  • All #GetLucky climbers will trek at the same pace due to shared Mountain Guides.
  • The assigned mountain guide will always maintain the position as the “last man” to assist slower climbers. Should you be a faster climber, do not expect the mountain guide to be climbing beside you.

  • Should you prefer a private guide for your group and have pickup/dropoff at your KK City hotel, please book ABK-MK01 instead.
  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level. The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and is required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption.

Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1 Itinerary KOTA KINABALU / KINABALU PARK HQ
    • Pickup from the Sabah Tourism Board building and depart on a 2-hour journey to Kinabalu Park Headquarters.
    • Along the way, pass by local villages and enjoy panoramic views of the Crocker Range valleys.
    • Make a short stop at Nabalu Market, where local natives sell fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, and handicraft souvenirs.
    • Upon arrival, check into your accommodation at Kinabalu Park HQ.
    • The rest of the day is free at leisure.
    • Dinner will be served at a local restaurant and overnight at Kinabalu Park HQ.

  • Day 2 Itinerary KINABALU PARK HQ / TIMPOHON GATE / PANALABAN BASE CAMP
    • Breakfast at Liwagu Restaurant in Kinabalu Park. Before departure, collect your packed lunch from the restaurant.
    • Proceed to Park HQ for climb registration. Your guide will assist with all necessary arrangements, including mountain guide assignment and issuance of your ID TAG. Please wear your ID TAG at all times during the climb.
    • Transfer to Timpohon Gate, the starting point of your Mount Kinabalu climb.
    • Begin your ascent through different vegetation zones ranging from Oak and Chestnut forests to mossy forest and alpine vegetation. The climb to Panalaban Base Camp at 3,272m takes approximately 4 to 5 hours depending on trekking pace.
    • Arrive and check into your accommodation at Panalaban or similar in the late afternoon.
    • Buffet dinner will be served at Laban Rata Restaurant and overnight.

    (Breakfast / Packed Lunch / Dinner)

  • Day 3 Itinerary LOW’S PEAK SUMMIT / DESCEND MOUNT KINABALU / KOTA KINABALU
    • (02:00 hrs) Wake up for an early supper before continuing the climb towards Low’s Peak at 4,095.2m, the highest point of Mount Kinabalu. The summit climb will test your fitness and determination. Depending on weather conditions and trekking pace, you may witness a beautiful sunrise over the mountain.
    • (07:00 hrs) Descend back to Panalaban for late breakfast and check out. Continue trekking down to Timpohon Gate for transfer back to Kinabalu Park Headquarters, with estimated arrival between 13:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs.
    • Upon completion, collect your Certificate of Achievement.
    • Buffet lunch will be served at Liwagu Restaurant before transfer back to Kota Kinabalu City. The journey takes approximately 2 hours.

About Climb Transport Arrangements

  1. Our friendly guide will meet you at your hotel lobby / greet you at the Airport arrival hall with a placard bearing your good name. Should you encounter difficulties in locating our guide, you can call our hotline number/s stated in your itinerary for further assistance.
  2. We do not recommend climbers to catch your flight on the same day you descend the mountain due to possible delay from injuries, tiredness and/or bad weather and traffic conditions.
    1. For 2-Day 1-Night packages, transportation will be arranged for Pick-Up from your Hotel between 06:00hrs - 07:00hrs. Our team will advise your Pick-Up time one (1) day before your departure. Kindly request your hotel for early or packed breakfast on the day of your tour.
    2. For 2-Day 1-Night packages with ferrata, transportation will be arranged for Pick-Up from your Hotel between 06:00hrs - 06:45hrs. Our team will advise your Pick-Up time one (1) day before your departure. Kindly request your hotel for early or packed breakfast on the day of your tour.
  3. For 3-Day 2-Nights packages and beyond, our transport can pick you up from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, your hotel in Kota Kinabalu or the meeting point at Grandis Hotel.
    Pick-up time is ideally between 12:30 hrs - 14:00 hrs to best follow the planned itinerary, which includes a brief stop at Nabalu Market (local market operating hours are until approximately 16:00 hrs). The suggested timing will be shared by MountKinabalu.com before your travel date. Any flight arrival after 18:00 hrs will incur a surcharge (subject to variation depending on group size).
  4. Additional charges of MYR 80 per pax are applicable for outskirt hotels pick-ups. OutSkirt Charges are applicable for Hotels in One Borneo, Putatan, and within 20km radius of Kota Kinabalu City Centre.
  5. All transportations are based on Seat-In-Coach. This is a transfer service in which clients share their vehicle with other clients. This is a door-to-door service with multiple pickups & drop-offs throughout the journey. Do expect some short waiting time.
  6. After descending to Kinabalu Park HQ, climbers are subject to pre-determined pickup time set by Amazing Borneo Tours with the last transport returning to Kota Kinabalu city latest by 1930hrs. We will ensure your possible wait of not more than 2 hours at Park HQ. However, if you missed the last transport (which is unlikely) or wish to depart at your own preferred timing, we can arrange a vehicle for private transfer for you (Subject to availability). Please understand that the surcharge for any private transfer will have to be borne by you.
  7. Private Transfer Surcharge:- MYR 450/vehicle/way
  8. Our group rates are quoted without deviation, which means we provide only one return transfers for your group. If your group requires more than one return transfers, additional transfer charges may apply.

Important Note:

  1. Climbers who reach Timpohon Gate after 16:30 Hrs will be imposed a fee of MYR15.00 per hour per guide and need to pay directly to mountain guide on the spot.
  2. Do take note that your MyKad (for Malaysian) / Passport (for Non-Malaysian) will be required for verification during registration at the Kinabalu Park office. Please bring it along with you.

  4. Effective 1 January 2026, the use of single-use plastic bags is strictly prohibited in all Sabah Parks. This policy is implemented to safeguard the natural environment and protect both marine and forest ecosystems from pollution and long-term harm. Visitors are required to bring their own reusable eco bags when entering any Sabah Parks area.

Friendly Note From Sabah Parks:
It is recommended that all climbers should have themselves medically checked before attempting any mountain climb. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommend that you should refrain from climbing: Hypertension, Diabetes, Palpitation, Arthritis, Heart disease, severe anemia, Peptic ulcers, Epileptic fits, Obesity (overweight), Chronic asthma, Muscular cramps, Hepatitis (jaundice); or any other disease which may hamper the climber.

Children below 15 years old must fill in the indemnity form upon registration at Park Headquarters.
