Croatian climber Mauro Persic, 46, was found alive with multiple injuries on Mount Kinabalu on 7 September 2026, the second day of a search and rescue operation. We are relieved to hear that he was found alive and wish him a full recovery. For anyone planning a Mount Kinabalu climb, the reminder is clear: follow Sabah Parks’ climbing requirements, use authorised routes and climb with the required mountain guide.
