Things You Should Prepare For Mountain Climb:
- Dry bag / Waterproof backpack
- Trekking or running shoe with good grip
- Warm clothing / Long sleeves shirt / Hiking pants
- Jacket / Wind breaker

- Small towel
- Hand gloves and winter hat
- Disposable raincoats
- Head torch (compulsory)
- Personal toiletries
- Refillable water bottle (0.5 – 1 Litre)
- High energy food such as chocolates, nuts, biscuits, sweets, energy bars
(Note: Your extra luggage can be stored at Kinabalu Park HQ at a nominal fee of RM15 per piece prior climb.)

- Sunblock lotion, lip gloss, plasters

- Camera with water proof bag

- Sleeping bag (recommended for cold nights at Gurkha Hut)
About Climb Transport Arrangements
- Our friendly guide will meet you at your hotel lobby / greet you at the Airport arrival hall with a placard bearing your good name. Should you encounter difficulties in locating our guide, you can call our hotline number/s stated in your itinerary for further assistance.
- We do not recommend climbers to catch your flight on the same day you descend the mountain due to possible delay from injuries, tiredness and/or bad weather and traffic conditions.
- Additional charges of MYR 80 per pax are applicable for outskirt hotels pick-ups. OutSkirt Charges are applicable for Hotels in One Borneo, Putatan, and within 20km radius of Kota Kinabalu City Centre.
- All transportations are based on Seat-In-Coach. This is a transfer service in which clients share their vehicle with other clients. This is a door-to-door service with multiple pickups & drop-offs throughout the journey. Do expect some short waiting time.
- After descending to Kinabalu Park HQ, climbers are subject to pre-determined pickup time set by Amazing Borneo Tours with the last transport returning to Kota Kinabalu city latest by 1930hrs. We will ensure your possible wait of not more than 2 hours at Park HQ. However, if you missed the last transport (which is unlikely) or wish to depart at your own preferred timing, we can arrange a vehicle for private transfer for you (Subject to availability). Please understand that the surcharge for any private transfer will have to be borne by you.

- Our group rates are quoted without deviation, which means we provide only one return transfers for your group. If your group requires more than one return transfers, additional transfer charges may apply.
Important Note:
- This is a physically demanding expedition recommended only for experienced climbers with a high level of fitness. A medical check-up and official clearance are required before the climb.
- Daily permits are limited to 12 climbers – early booking is strongly advised.
- All climbers must submit a completed Climber Indemnity Form before the expedition begins.
- Summit attempts are weather- and trail-dependent; itinerary is subject to change due to operational or environmental factors.
- Meals and accommodations are basic, with up to two nights of camping in cold, high-altitude conditions.
- Meals at Gurkha Hut are self-cooked using basic ingredients provided; additional supplies are available at extra cost.
- There is no filtered water at Gurkha Hut – bring your own or use water purification tablets.
- No refunds will be issued if climbers fail to meet pre-climb or on-expedition requirements.
- Special meal requests may incur extra charges.
- Porter service for personal belongings, personal insurance, alcoholic drinks, and airfare are not included.
- Day 1 accommodation is on a Run-Of-House (ROH) basis, with a private twin-share room arranged within Kinabalu Park HQ or Kundasang mountain lodge based on availability at check-in.
- Private vehicle transfers are available on request with a top-up charge.
- Climbers arriving at Timpohon Gate after 16:30 Hrs will be charged MYR 15/hour per guide, payable directly to the mountain guide.
- All climbers must present their MyKad (Malaysians) or passport (non-Malaysians) during registration at Kinabalu Park HQ.
- A Tourism Tax (TTx) of MYR 10 per room per night applies to foreign guests and is payable upon check-in. Malaysians are exempt with valid ID.
- Effective 1 January 2026, the use of single-use plastic bags is strictly prohibited in all Sabah Parks. This policy is implemented to safeguard the natural environment and protect both marine and forest ecosystems from pollution and long-term harm. Visitors are required to bring their own reusable eco bags when entering any Sabah Parks area.

All climbers are required to have themselves medically checked before embarking on this expedition. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommend that you should refrain from climbing: Hypertension, Diabetes, Palpitation, Arthritis, Heart disease, severe anemia, Peptic ulcers, Epileptic fits, Obesity (overweight), Chronic asthma, Muscular cramps, Hepatitis (jaundice); or any other disease which may hamper the climber.
